Sunday, July 21, 2019: Day 2; Sea Day and Formal Night

Today is a full sea day. Tomorrow we dock in Tallinn, Estonia. We gained another hour today so that we are now eight hours ahead of CDT. This morning is cool and overcast. Temperature is 64F and not expected to rise much during the course of the day. The seas are smooth for the most part.

The kids slept in until about 10:00 local time. They might not be fully recovered from jet lag, but are getting close. I got up around 7:00 am and went down for breakfast in the Colonnade. They were just starting to stir when I dropped by on the way to the Observation Lounge on deck 11. There I enjoyed an hour of peace and quiet.

Around 11:00 am, Laura and Megan found me and we had lunch again in the Colonnade before finishing our exploration of the ship. Tonight, we have been invited to dine at 7:30 pm with Chanel Grobler, the Seabourn Club Representative. This is a formal dress affair, so it is the night for which I brought my tuxedo. We also have a "exclusive" invitation to tour the ship's galley at 4:30 pm this afternoon. We have a tour of the ship's bridge tomorrow afternoon at 1:50 pm...which we will miss because we will be on a shore excursion visiting the Old Town of Tallinn and a chocolate factory.

Veranda at the Colonnade for lunch
And they have a dedicated Sushi bar, which we will try tomorrow for lunch!

Laura and Megan went down to the hot tub while I cleaned up for dinner. I found them bathing with a couple from St. Louis who had recently moved to Houston. Small world.

The gallery tour was not much to brag about. The chef is from Berlin. He just walked us through a very small area of the galley. On the up side, we were treated to champagne and caviar.

One of the chefs was chocolate coating ice cream balls. He caught sight of Megan and of course offered her a treat. After that everyone wanted one.

We then went to the spa to schedule a hair cut for Megan for tomorrow morning. Then back to the room to await dressing for dinner.

We met Chanel in the ship's restaurant for dinner. She is the Seabourn Club Representative. She is 34 years of age and originally from South Africa. We had a nice conversation over a delicious dinner.
